Space2 pop up exhibition Watford

The opening of the pop up exhibition on Saturday went fantastically with lots and lots of visitors. The exhibition itself looked great as did the vintage shop being run by the New Hope Trust. There is an artist in residence who will be working in the gallery at times during the weeks to come and also an installation by the New Hope Trust profiling there work in helping the homeless in Watford. Come and visit if you are in Watford. I will be visiting the exhibition from time to time and will profile the other artists on my blog.

No one can say that if you are an artist you don't travel to new places and meet lots of different people. Today it was my first time to Goodwood Race Course to hand in a submission for the National Open to be held in Chichester.

The Twisted Thread

At long last the Knitting and Stitch Show has arrived which means I have bought my new high low table - hurrah! No more working on the floor and getting in all my family's way. As usual it was a great chance to buy some more lovely fabrics. There were, as always, some very interesting textiles in the textile exhibition by new graduates and established textile artists. My favorite was Elizabeth Tarr, she was showing her new body of work "Infanta series: run 1010" paper, fabric, indigo and stitch. Elizabeth explores the nature of memory, she aims to unite the darker tones of experience with a delight in the every-day.
